Injection process technology and parameter selection (PTS-1)

Training description:

This is an intensive course that focuses on the key aspects of plastics injection molding. Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge about polymer materials, their physicochemical and mechanical properties, and the principles of selecting appropriate materials for various purposes. The course also includes an overview of various plastics processing methods, with an emphasis on injection technology. One of the main elements of this training is a fascinating practical exercise. As part of this exercise, participants have the opportunity to become familiar with a professional KraussMaffei injection machine. Under the supervision of an experienced instructor, participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with the injection molding machine’s control panel, understand its functions and capabilities; try practical settings of injection molding machine operating parameters, such as injection pressure, mold temperature, cycle time and many others; adjust these parameters to obtain a finished product from the injection mold, which will allow for a better understanding of the injection process. Thanks to this experience, training graduates will be more confident and effective in managing the injection process and in selecting optimal parameters, which translates into savings of time and resources in production.

Purpose and scope of training:

  • Classification, structure and properties of polymeric materials;
  • Basic physicochemical and mechanical properties;
  • Rules for the selection of plastics for given purposes;
  • Examples of applications of plastics in industry;
  • Special features of plastics and their influence on processing;
  • Basics of recycling plastics;
  • The impact of recycling on the process and the final product;
  • Plastic additives and their influence on processing properties;
  • Review of plastics processing methods;
  • Principles of operation of injection machines, process parameters, and quality control techniques:
  • The essence of peripheral devices used in plastics processing (dryers, coolers, and automation systems).

Benefits of training:

Participants will gain knowledge that will enable more efficient and precise processing of plastics using injection molding. Thanks to this they will be able to:

  • Optimize the injection process, saving time and raw materials.
  • Choose the right materials for specific projects, which translates into cost savings and increased product durability.
  • Manage the recycling process more effectively, which is important from the point of view of sustainable development.
  • Improve the quality and efficiency of the production of injection molded products.

Recipients:

The training is recommended for all people working in the plastics industry, as well as those who want to expand their knowledge and skills in this area.
