Plastics test methods (QA-1)

Training description:

The training covers research methods that support quality control in injection molding. The methods are divided into 3 sections: – 1) concerning quality control of the raw material, – 2) methods supporting the course of the injection molding process and – 3) concerning testing the properties of the finished product. The course includes basic theoretical knowledge on the characteristics of the most important materials and the impact of the properties of the polymer itself on the course of the process, as well as the principles of operation and maintenance of a given device in accordance with dedicated standards. In addition to theory, practical classes are held on available devices, i.e. a plastometer, a strength machine, a hardness tester, a spectrophotometer, a thermal imaging camera, a polarizing microscope and others.

Purpose and scope of training:

Theoretical classes:

  • basic theoretical knowledge of the characteristics of the most important materials and the influence of their properties on the process*
  • the influence of the types of materials on the control and measurement specificity,
  • quality control of raw material in the process*
  • methods supporting the process*
  • operation of measuring devices in accordance with dedicated standards,
