At K 2022, KraussMaffei presented two new series of injection molding machines: precisionMolding and powerMolding . The all -electric precisionMolding is available with clamping forces from 500 to 3,200 kN, while the hydraulic two-platen powerMolding will be available from January 1, 2023 with clamping forces from 6,500 to 16,000 kN. The new machines are the manufacturer’s response to the growing demand of markets in Europe and North America for attractively priced and energy-saving injection molding machines for standard applications with quick availability.

Proven KraussMaffei quality and maximum energy efficiency


Both precisionMolding and powerMolding stand for high performance and precision that meet the highest KraussMaffei quality standards. It is also easy to integrate digital solutions, such as automatic injection basis weight stabilization – APC plus (Adaptive Process Control) or automation solutions.

PrecisionMolding provides a high level of productivity with quick availability and easy operation. The use of only electric drives ensures excellent energy efficiency of the machine itself, and also allows for the complete abandonment of the hydraulic oil cooling system.


Up to 40 percent higher energy efficiency


PowerMolding offers the proven KraussMaffei BluePower servo drive in standard models. It controls the pumps depending on the current real energy demand. Only the amount of energy that is needed at the moment is used. Depending on the application, powerMolding offers up to 40 percent more energy efficiency than comparable standard injection molding machines on the market.

The reliability of precisionMolding injection molding machines was successfully demonstrated at the manufacturer’s stand at K 2022. The machine in the 160-750 version with a clamping force of 1600 kN was used to produce tennis rackets made of 100% biopolyethylene based on sugar cane.

The powerMolding 1300-11900 injection molding machine with a clamping force of 13,000 kN was part of a complete circular economy system. As part of this concept, disposable medical caps were produced on a KraussMaffei KM 200-1400 PX high-speed injection molding machine, then regranulated in a continuous cycle and sent to the powerMolding 1300-11900 injection molding machine on an ongoing basis. Elements for car bumpers were produced from this enriched 100% recyclate.
