The central feeding and drying system is an inevitable future for any modern plant based on plastics processing. Automation of the feeding and drying process enables full control of parameters and better resource management. Whether in series production based on one type of plastic or in complex production processes that use many types of plastics and additives, a good feeding and drying system is an indispensable solution.

Below we have prepared a list of the most important benefits that the system brings to the company.

  • Easy operation from one place and full control of parameters

The central system saves a lot of time, thanks to the operation of all devices from one place. The central service station gives access to individual system components, full process control and quick error identification. It is easy to diagnose e.g. a defective batch of material and quickly withdraw from production. We also gain the ability to remotely operate and monitor the system in terms of feeding, dosing and drying.

Such centralized and effective control is not possible in the case of single stand feeders and dryers located next to machines, the operation of which is usually limited to on / off.

  • Orderly work system and processes

With the central feeding system, there is no need to transport the material around the hall and place the tanks next to the machines. In the feeding system, thanks to the coupling station, we conveniently attach the required type of material to individual injection molding machines. Tanks with granules are placed in separate rooms or they are transported from external silos. This saves a lot of time and space. There is no need to involve employees to replenish the material at the machine on a regular basis, because this activity is eliminated. Ultimately, this means involving less staff.

  • More space in the injection hall and cleaner production

Thanks to the removal of plastic tanks, as well as dryers and dosing stations to a separate room, we gain space in the production hall. Then we have a greater possibility, for example, to expand the production with new injection machines . The area by the machines becomes cleaner and tidy. We limit the movement of transport trolleys and situations of spilling plastic at the machine.

  • Energy-saving

In the central feeding system, single station feeders are replaced with efficient pumps controlled by inverters. The savings in electricity are very clear, it is enough to compare the total power installed in the feeders with the power of pumps on inverters. In addition, central dryers bring noticeable energy savings. At a time when prices per kilowatt hour of electricity are reaching historically record levels, this is a huge benefit for the company.

  • Less breakdowns and maintenance

The central system means fewer breakdowns and definitely less maintenance. In the traditional drying and feeding model, each individual device, which can be several dozen in factories, requires regular maintenance. In the central system, the service staff is much less involved in maintenance, because the service is limited to the maintenance of the central components of the system. Moreover, the components used in the construction of feeding systems are of the highest standard of durability and resistance to industrial conditions. Often the same cannot be said about the elements used in stationary feeding devices, where low purchase costs are often decisive.

  • Rational management of resources

Thanks to the monitoring of stock levels and the current consumption of materials, we gain better control of orders. It is then easier to plan raw material purchases and get better purchase prices.

  • Reliable with many plastics

The central drying system is ideal when the company has many types of materials to handle. This is due to the fact that central dryers are assigned to the type of material, and not to a specific machine. As a result, the entire process can be rationally and energy-saving planned in order to dry the raw material for several machines within one cycle.

The central system is designed in such a way that the pipes are thoroughly cleaned of polymer residues after each feeding cycle. Consequently, it is possible to quickly change the raw material on the machine. The more plastics we use for production, the more benefits the central feeding and drying system will bring. It is then much easier to control the material management process.

  • Greater security

The central system increases the safety of the material processing. The system is based on industrial components and controllers, more resistant to vibrations, disturbances and power disturbances. In the event of an error or malfunction, the system will diagnose the problem and help you quickly return to further production. In the case of individual dryers and feeders assigned to machines, any problem means that production is stopped, and the information appears with a long delay.

  • Better company rating

Thanks to the central feeding and drying system, the company also gains image. The importance of the plant in audits as well as in the opinion of customers is increasing.

  • Expandable

The systems are modular in design, so they can be extended or modified as your production activity grows. It is worth considering a central system, especially at the stage of planning the construction or expansion of the production hall.
